Exploring the design and development methods, lifestyles, and impacts of ecovillages and the ecovillage movement through systematised research is extremley relevant in today’s world. It continues to evoke increasingly more interest in the mainstream world as people tune into the potential ecovillages can offer the future world we desire and need.
GEN and other networks are collaborating with universities and researchers from around the globe to dive deep into this learning and to pull out patterns and wider implications. This collection of learnings will give you an impression of the richness of work within the GEN research group and the ecovillage movement as a whole. We highlight the voices to known and experienced ecovillage researchers which share their knowledge and insights within their field of research.
The resources and stories gathered here are for a range of audiences:
- Academics searching for an ecovillage as a case study, or a synthesis of ecovillage research conducted so far,
- Students intending to write an academic paper on an ecovillage or the wider movement,
- Journalists interested in reporting on an ecovillage or the network,
- Or ecovillage communities or members receiving requests from students or researchers asking to study your ecovillage.
